The area of concentration’s aim is to foster an exchange and synergy between information, mediation and culture and to conceptually define itself conforming to the following perspectives:
INFORMATION is viewed through its own human dimension, endowed with a symbolic and pragmatic nature, the mark of human intervention in reality.
CULTURE constitutes a fundamental contribution, since it is the basis for the construction of knowledge and informational processes. Historical, political and social aspects, as well as contradictions and conflicts that permeate society present themselves.
MEDIATION calls for a joint reflection on the various instruments and forms constructed by humanity to manage and deal with the records of knowledge that it has created for itself. In analytical terms, mediations embody themselves in social life and translate through interactions and social and symbolic confrontations that result from the intermediation of language and other social practices.
